A house full of character in a large private clearing in Les Landes, one of Europe's largest forests. It has been lovingly modernised and decorated whilst retaining its beautiful Landais colombage features. Peaceful and tranquil, it is easy to just stay and unwind here. But it is also close to many local market towns and tourist attractions. Casteljaloux, 10kms away, has many tourist activities based around its lake. Bordeaux, the Atlantic, the Pyrenees, Bergerac, Armagnac, the Basque country and Gascony/Gers all make for great day trips. In summer there are many local night markets for eating and spectacular ferias.
The house is entered along a large covered verandah which acts as an extra lounge and dining area. It provides an outdoor, shaded space with open views over the forest, our clearing and the pool. The main entrance takes you directly into the large lounge, a double fireplace (wood stove) seperates this from a kitchen/diner, off that to the side are a bedroom, toilet, shower and utility room. At the back are three bedrooms, a bathroom and another seperate toilet. There are five doors, three of them from bedrooms, directly onto the garden and the forest beyond.
This house sleeps 6 comfortably but if two families or an extended family wished to share then extra bedding for upto 9 or 10 is possible on request.
