Beautiful villa, mountain and orange grove views, short drive to beaches. | Villa in Gandia, Spain

4 Bedroom Villa with Bedding, Kitchen and TV
Beautiful and charming villa. Four bedrooms, one of which is self contained. The villa is beautifully furnished and has everything for a relaxing stay. It is located in an exclusive estate with gated 24 hours security, 5 kms from Gandia.
The villa lies at the end of a road and therefore is very private. There is a 8m x 4m private swimming pool. The garden is terraced with typical mediterranean planting.
There is a covered naya outside the main bedroom. There are several terraces, including lower terrace with sofa seating; pool terrace comprising sun loungers with dining table and chairs under pergola; outside upper lounge pergola terrace; and the sunset barbecue terrace.
Montepino was affected by a large forest fire in August 2018. Fortunately the inside of the villa was not damaged but the outside was. We have done a lot of renovation work since then and the villa, terraces and gardens are greatly enhanced. All the photographs on this site were taken after the fire. Many trees were burnt in the surrounding area but this has opened up stupendous views over the mountains and the orange groves in the valley below.
The main bedroom has a double (king size) bed with mountain views and doors onto a covered terrace. There are a further two bedrooms on the same level, one with double (king size) bed and one with two twin beds. These rooms have open views over mountains and/or orange groves. There are two bathrooms on this level, one with a bath and one with a shower. The fourth bedroom (apartment) is on the lower level of the villa and has a double bed and sofa bed. It has a kettle and coffee making machine and a small fridge. The apartment bedroom also benefits from a large bathroom with bath and shower.
The villa has a comfortable and cosy lounge with wood burner and dining annexe. There is a modern kitchen with ample storage/cupboard space and worktops. The kitchen is well equipped with Bosch electric hob, oven and dishwasher, and a large american style fridge-freezer. There is an electric kettle, toaster, sandwich maker, coffee machine and juicer (for all those oranges) . Off the kitchen there is a well designed utility area and cloakroom. There is a good range of kitchen utensils, crockery and cookware and even recipe books if you want to take a break from the many wonderful and good value restaurants in and around Gandia.
The Villa is accessed through electric gates with intercom security leading up to a covered car port. From the top of the drive steps go off in several directions: to the front door, to the bedroom terrace and to the rear door, sunset barbecue terrace and terraced rear garden.
The garden is designed for relaxing and peaceful contemplation. There are outdoor tables and chairs with loungers around the pool. On the pool terrace there is a covered gazebo for shaded sitting and dining. There are lights all over the garden to enable you to sit outside for as long as you want as the warm balmy evenings turn to night.
Around the villa there are mountain walks within the vicinity, beautiful and serene. There is a visitors' centre at La Drova which is a few kilometres up the road and into the hills. A bit further and you will come to the lovely traditional mountain village of Barx. Take a step back to sample the quieter traditional ways of Spanish life. Barx has some basic services; a pharmacist, small grocers, butchers and cafes/bars.
A short 6 km drive in the other direction and you will arrive in Gandia which has all the commercial and retail services you need. It is a very traditional Spanish town with few English tourists. A lovely town, not brash and in your face, but if you take the time to seek out it treasures it will captivate you and keep you coming back for more. A short 3kms from the old town is Gandia beach and port. The beach is generally recognised as one of the best and number one for Spanish tourists particularly from Madrid. There are kilometres of sand with well developed blue flag beaches and a short distance south around Oliva there are undeveloped sand dune beaches where even in August you can easily avoid the crowds.
Gandia is in the La Safor area, this is the real Spain. There are endless places to visit within a short drive time. The castle town of Xativa and the monastery at Simat are two of our favourites.
At the bottom of the road by the entrance to Montepina there is a bus stop with a service to Gandia town centre. Valencia is easily accessed by a 55 minute train ride form Gandia station, Valencia is Spain's third largest city and our favourite. It is well worth a visit.
