Summary: The room was fine, but there were a few things that made it feel kind of tacky. The first one was that the breakfast was actually available across the street (not just a side street, but the very busy Pacific Coast Highway, a hazard to cross on foot. te offerings across the street were very sparse and there was no place to sit and eat. It felt unwelcoming to me. the second thing was the automatic checkout with a kind of teller machine in the lobby. There were audio problems and it was clunky and felt impersonal even though there was the image of a live agent, who was likely far afield, abroad. These two things were strong detractors for me along with an otherwise fine room.
