Travel Purpose: leisure
Positive: The appartment has a luxurious and modern appearance. Marble floor in the whole appartment; beautiful giant-large marble tiles in the bathroom. Large well equipped kitchen with a dishwasher. Extra corner with a desk, in case one wants to be 'working from home' during the holydays :-). Not much chance for that, considering the fantastic view from the balcony over one of the bays of Dubrovnik. With the wide sliding door open, it is as if the whole appartment is one large terras, hanging over the beautiful city. Downstairs, next to the swimming pool is an extra community room with kitchen for all apartments and also a barbecue. Every morning Marijana, the nice landlady, puts a plate of croissants there for all the guests. Easy access to Dubrovnic; near bus 3 to the old town, and also back. But of course you can also take the stairs.
Negative: The bed is good but the pillows are (like anywhere) a problem. But of course only your pillow at home is good. Like many appartments in Croatia it misses some small lamps to create a cosy atmosphere. With the big lights, sometimes it has the idea of a luxurious dentist clinic. There could be more electricity plugs, but that is a problem in most hotels and appartments. I always bring some double plugs on travels. The bathroom has a modern rain shower and a smaller nornal shower. It is a pity that there is no hook to hang on the small shower while using it. Now you have to keep it in your hand. The landlady gave us a hint for "a good local restaurant" at the bay (Amphora). That appeared a bit of a dissapointment: an unsatisfactory meal and an incorrect bill. But of course Dubrovnik has many other very good restaurants.
