Welcome to Foxglove Barn (UK41234) and Bramble Barn (UK41235), two beautifully restored barns dating back to 1789 where the owners have used some of the original materials in the build. These one-bedroom properties are very light, spacious and from the minute you walk in you will notice the attention to detail, it will appear as if you are in a very expensive hotel. Outside there is a garden to relax in after a great day of exploring. Here you can watch the stars. You will probably spot some very rare birds whilst you are here, as you are surrounded by moorland.
Ideal for a special occasion it feels as though you are in the middle of nowhere, but you can get to many places within half an hour. There are two pubs nearby which both have a great atmosphere and amazing food. You are surrounded by unspoilt countryside, yet you can see the sea in the distance. Less than a mile outside Zennor, this is a great place for walking, there are some amazing sites, including Men-An Tol, a Bronze Age monument, and in the parish church of St Senara you will see a medieval carving of a mermaid.
The coastal scenery is beautiful and there are many walks to choose from. St Ives is less than 5 miles away, well known for its harbour, it is bustling with local shops, cafés, pubs where you will find great atmosphere and food, restaurants, and a range of boat trips can be booked from the harbour. It is also home to the famous Barbara Hepworth Museum. If you like art, there are a selection of art galleries to visit in the town. It is also well known for its sandy beaches, Porthminster is the largest, you are sheltered from the winds, in the winter the views are dramatic with waves crashing against Godrevy Lighthouse. There is an excellent restaurant here well worth a visit.
Penzance is the closest town, 7 miles away, and is the most westerly major town, people always think of pirates and sea shanty’s which is evident in some of the older pubs. The Scillonian Ferry leaves Penzance to reach the Isles of Scily, a magical place and is well worth a trip. Marazion is just before Penzance and is home to St Michaels Mount, during the summer season you can visit the island and castle, wander around the garden, and then stop at the café. What is unique as the only way to reach the island is by boat, unless the tide is out and then you walk across the causeway. The small market town is lovely to walk around, lots of gift shops and galleries, have an ice-cream while sitting on the beach. Beach 3¾ miles.
